High-zoot, high-end stuff is nice to look at, and it’s even nicer to own.
That said, we’ve got enormous respect for companies who find ways to incorporate high-end features into their products and offer those products for those with skinny wallets.
Gen-Right Off-Road’s Hi-Fender tube fenders allow TJ and YJ owners to incorporate the high hood-line and tall fender height of the JK into their older rigs. This lets owners of non-current Jeeps give their rigs a functional facelift without needing to lay their trusted iron down in favor of a brand-new JK. There are two hood options to go with the Gen-Right Hi-Fenders. The first is an AEV Hi-Line hood, and the second is a do-it-yourself stock hood cut down (up?) to match the taller hood line the Hi-Fenders were built around.
What’s the big deal with Hi-Fenders and skinnier hoods? Combined, they allow bigger tires at lower lift heights, and allow more bump travel. This, in turn rewards the Jeeper with a lower center of gravity and more confidence (and competence) when picking a line across an off-camber slope.
Cool stuff. We saw it at the Expo.
