It's titled as a 1947, but the V.I.N. says it's a '48. No matter, it's a clean Willys with untouched frame and powertrain that runs very well. It's even still 6 volt! It was repainted back in the late-60s or early-70s, but hasn't been touched since then. My friend purchased it from the children of the owner who had passed away. They had let it sit outside for a few years. So, it's not perfect, but it's perfect for what I want.
I plan on doing almost nothing to this Jeep. The L-Head flathead 4, T90 3-speed tranny, Model 18 transfer case and stock Dana/Spicer 25 front and Dana/Spicer 41 rearend will stay stock. It will also retain stock springs and C shackles. About the only things I plan on changing right now is to replace the stock steering wheel that's cracked beyond repair with a repro unit and trade the seats with a set of black ones that have the OE vinyl and are the OE thickness. It might get a Warn OD in the future.
This is going to be a lot of fun. Watch the magazine for more on my red Willys.
