As popular as the Early Bronco is, the dimensionally similar Bronco II never caught the imagination of the enthusiast world quite the same way.
Was the problem the lack of a removable top? The lukewarm V-6? Was it overshadowed by the full-size Bronco?
Whatever the reason, there are tons of Bronco II's out there for those who see diamonds instead of rough.
Bronco II's wheelbase is just right for tight maneuvering, and the Twin Traction Beam front suspension delivers a great combination of ruggedness and smooth ride quality. If you need a stronger front end than the TTB Dana 28, a TTB Dana 35 from an Explorer or a 4.0 Ranger will bolt right in.
I spied this Bronco II in the parking lot of the Pomona Fairplex during a previous Off-Road Expo. It was built by Solo Motorsports and rides on 35's with a low lift height.
I've got too many projects as it is, but if I were looking for something affordable and left-of-center, a Bronco II would be hard to beat.
