For too long, armor has been too heavy. Protection is great, but weight, both unsprung and sprung, is a killer whether you're speeding down a dirt road or rock crawling.

Savvy Off-Road is developing a complete line of aluminum parts for TJ Wranglers that will end the weight crisis. Check out the features of their new aluminum TJ gas tank skid:

- Skid is 6061-T6 temper 3/16" thick. Mounting flanges are 3/16" zinc plated HRPO that is laser cut to size

- All new hardware including push on retainers

- New stainless steel tank hold down straps

- 32 pounds total weight, including hardware (the stock sheetmetal skid weighs 28 pounds)

- More clearance for track bar

- Tank is moved back as far as possible

- 3/4" more clearance than a stock '03 - '06 skid at the lower height

- 1 3/4" more clearance than a stock '03 - '06 skid at the raised height

- Must be run with a min. 1" body lift at the raised height

- Unconditional guarantee. If you tear it up, it will be replaced at no cost to you

- After June 1st, all military personnel will receive free shipping in the Continental US as Savvy Off-Road's way of saying thanks for your service

- Proudly made in the USA

Cool, huh? 6061 aluminum is strong and doesn't groove and cause drag (if you know what we mean) over rocks as softer aluminum does. Besides their new skid, Savvy Off-Road is developing aluminum rocker guards and aluminum front and rear bumpers for the TJ Wrangler, to be introduced very soon.
