The JK Wrangler has issues that designers of bumpers need to address. The frame rails stick out front and rear, making it hard to build clean, simple, smaller bumpers. Now, they've introduced their rear swingaway tire carrier bumper that continues the Hanson tradition.
The new Hanson tire carrier has an innovative latch, first seen on Pure Jeep's spare carriers, that's easy to operate with one hand, yet very strong. The carrier also has a hold-open latch, adjustable wheel mounting for different lug patterns and backspacing, and is rattle-free.
The bumper is Hanson's good looking, proven design. No frame trimming is required and the Hanson bumper tapers from top to bottom, affording more ground clearance. The wraparound portion of the bumper is designed to work with factory flares or tube fenders. It looks fine with either. It also has an integrated receiver.
