We talked about Steve Schlueter's CJ-7 a little while back. This time, we'll hit some highlights of another Jeep from the JeepExpeditions.org Mojave Road Trip.
Ron Frye of Saugus, California, owns this bright red Wrangler. Ron caught up with the group at the Mojave Road mailbox after having missed the group's departure from Afton Canyon Campground. The missed departure was due to a time change: most of the group was going by Arizona time, which was an hour ahead of California time in November.
We didn't get the full rundown on everything Ron's done to his ride, but we'll start off by noting that the oh-so-cool trailer was fabbed by the owner. The style matches perfectly and the trailer solves a fundamental problem faced by Wrangler owners who want to take extended trips: the lack of storage space.
Ron built his front bumper airtight so he could use it as an air tank. The bumper supports a Mile Marker Hypro winch.
We've got a few more photos of Ron's rig, and we'll see about digging up a few more details for tomorrow.
