You'll soon be reading about our 2009 WK Grand Cherokee loaner vehicle in the magazine. I hadn't paid much attention to the WK before now, but, now that I'm driving one, I love it! With a Hemi V8 and electronic locking diffs front and rear, the WK is a capable backcountry explorer and trail rig.

While there are some aftermarket parts available for the WK, it's still difficult to build one using quality parts that might actually work in the backcountry.

One company dedicated to the WK is 4xGuard. 4xGuard started working on quality WK parts when the WK was first introduced in 2005. As the owners are active backcountry explorers, the parts they've developed work very well.

For example, check out their Matrix front bumper system. It's good looking, strong, and its modular design allows it to be tailored for our use. 4xGuard's skidplates are also good looking, strong, and show that the designers use a WK in the backcountry and know where it hits in the rocks.

When you check out 4xGuard's website, note that they not only offer quality, made in the U.S.A. products, but also use and review other fine WK products, such as Superlift's 4" WK suspension system.

If you own a WK Grand Cherokee and plan on building it for trail use, you need to check out 4xGuard. Also note they're selling their original 2005 WK because they just purchased a new 3.0 diesel WK to build.
