GenRight's new aluminum Jeep parts

People are finally figuring out that weight is the enemy. So much so, that they're asking companies to offer aluminum parts to replace heavy steel.

Tony from GenRight says that, after many requests from customers, they've developed aluminum skidplates for their GenRight gas tanks. The steel skid for their 15-gallon COMP gas tank weighs 78 pounds. The aluminum skidplate weighs only 36 pounds! Very cool.

GenRight's aluminum gas tank skidplates join their aluminum corner guards, available for CJ-7, YJ, TJ, and TJ Unlimiteds with standard or stretched wheelbases. The aluminum corners cut 50 pounds of weight from the Jeep.

Light is good. Strong is good. Light AND strong is great. GenRight is doing final real-world testing of their aluminum gas tank skidplates right now and, if they pass their tests, will be available soon.
