In the quest to make non-truck vehicles more useful, small utility trailers are the way to go. Lightweight and small, utility trailers allow us to carry ATVs, side-by-sides, furniture, yard tools, home improvement stuff - pretty much anything a 1/2-ton pickup truck can carry.
In light of this, I've purchased a Pace utility trailer. The Pace trailer is 6x10', a perfect size for side-by-sides that are wider than five feet. The trailer has a drop-down gate that doubles as a ramp, making loading motorcycles, ATVs and side-by-sides easy. It also has small sides that will be easy to raise and close in if an enclosed trailer is needed.
The only negatives to my new trailer are that Pace doesn't close in the inner fenderwells, which I think is strange, and the spring-loaded pins that hold the liftgate up didn't fit, forcing me to grind the pin hole openings in the gate larger (the trailer was delivered with the gate lying in the bed). Why did I have to do this on a new trailer?
Having a lightweight utility trailer makes any vehicle with a 2" receiver a small truck. In these days of economic crisis and people thinking of getting rid of extraneous vehicles, these trailers make a lot of sense.
