Superior Seating, Part VI

Who Turned Up the Heat?

Unless you've experienced them, heated seats don't seem like a big deal. Most of the time, they aren't.

One day, though, you're going to feel extremely grateful to have them. It might involve a hike or a bike ride in nasty weather. Climbing into a heated seat after a damp, chilly extra-vehicular excursion is enough to make you a convert the first time.

Another welcome benefit to heated seats is their ability to soothe tight muscles after a hard workout. Even if it's not a cold, wet day outside your muscles will still appreciate the flex-giving warmth of heated seats.

The most compelling reason for having heated seats is that they're the perfect complement to an open-top vehicle.

While the 4Runner these seats are going into is enclosed, this writer loves open windows and fresh air. Crisp weather, fresh air coming through cracked-open windows, and heated seats sounds like a cozy combo.

Mastercraft installs the heater elements inside the seat at the factory. A wiring harness, switch, fuse, and instructions are included with each heated seat.

This rounds out the spotlight on the Baja RS seats for the front row of the 4Runner.

We've got some Sportsman seats for the second row. We'll highlight them next time, and then get back to the installation.
