Monster Valves

A Closer Look

Before we install the Monster Valves, let's take a closer look.

First of all, they absolutely dwarf a standard-size valve. There's no way around it: a bigger valve equals bigger flow.

Next, Monster Valves are made from aerospace-quality materials using aerospace-quality manufacturing processes. It's tempting to get an extra Monster Valve just so you can have one to gawk at and hold in your hand.

As you might expect, a standard-size air chuck won't fit on, or flow sufficiently for, a Monster Valve. Enter the Monster Chuck. The Monster Chuck clicks into a standard air hose using a standard fitting.

When you air down with Monster Valves, you do it by unthreading the red collar at the valve's base. Air comes out FAST! In fact, Powertank president Steve Sasaki recommends that you begin closing the Monster Valve's collar at about three p.s.i. before you reach your target pressure. If you wait to close the valve until your target pressure, you'll overshoot.
