Every good trip must end, and so it was with Mammoth.
Jaime told us about an Indian reservation casino and gas station in Bishop that had nice gas prices. He was right. In fact, there's a similar gas station just north of Independence where the pump is less painful. A veteran of Highway 395, Jaime tipped us off to that one, too.
Sunday afternoon on I-15 southbound is usually miserable with back-from-Vegas traffic. Fortunately, our trip to Devil's Postpile had taken a huge chunk of the afternoon and ran partially into the evening. By the time we got to the jucture of Highway 395 and I-15, traffic was flowing smoothly along.
