Monster Valve Installation Notes

A Perfect Match to these DC-1's

I've got a set of Dick Cepek DC-1 wheels, and they've already got OMF reinforcement rings welded onto the outer lip for additional strength. In addition to strengthening the wheel, the reinforcment rings help keep marauding debris from getting into the wheel center. With a set of Dick Cepek Mud Country tires this combo makes a set of ideal trail "shoes."

Because of the wheels' spoked design, I had complete access to the dropped center portion of the wheel. This is as far away from the tire bead as you can get.

The center cap was removed from the wheel prior to Monster Valve installation to provide better working room with the drill.

Teflon tape was used on the Monster Valve threads, and a 9/16-inch deep socket was used to thread the Monsters into place.

I placed a dab of silicone grease on the double O-rings before I threaded the red sealing collar (not shown) onto the Monster Valve body.
