The LJ now has a 1" body lift to better clear the Atlas transfer case and Belly Up crossmember. When a body lift is installed, the fan shroud/fan relationship needs to be addressed.
The shroud can be drilled to lower it an inch, but I like to raise the motor instead. On shorter Jeeps, this gives a better rear driveline angle for less vibration, although on the LJ this isn't critical. What it does on every Jeep is address the motor mount issue.
The OE motor mounts fail. changing them to aftermarket mounts will save trouble on the trail. Mountain Off-Road Enterprises' (M.O.R.E.) BombProof motor mounts are among the very best. They not only raise the motor 1", but, with their torsion rubber bushings, dampen vibration much better than urethane-style mounts do. Zinc plated for longevity, the M.O.R.E. BombProof motor mounts are the choice for the builder who wants only the best on their Jeep.
Available for CJ, YJ, TJ, and LJ applications, you need these as much as we did.
