I've been on a search for a TJ Wrangler. I wanted an Unlimited for it's stretched wheelbase and interior room, but the Unlimiteds are more expensive now than a year ago.
This Unlimited appeared on a dealer's lot months ago, but it had 109000 miles on the clock and the dealer was asking much more than I could afford. Last Saturday, I went on another TJ search and stopped at the dealership again to look at a couple of other TJs that were sitting on the lot.
The salesman told me that they had lowered the price substantially on the Unlimited. "It has to go." he said. I told him the maximum I could pay. He agreed on the spot.
This 2004 TJ had been used as a commuter vehicle. The owner had driven over 100 miles a day to and from work, hence the miles on the odometer. The MIL (Check Engine) light was on, but was soon off as soon as the gas cap was replaced. The Patriot Blue paint is chipped, but the interior is in great shape and everything works. There are no leaks and the 4.0 liter mill runs great. Except for the chrome grille, I like it.
Watch for the buildup of my LJ in 4Wheel Drive Magazine.
Now, out to the garage to remove the chrome grille.
