Eric's Samurai

It's fun to go on photo shoots and see how people have built their 4x4s. Eric Miller's 1987 Samurai works great and is a collection of innovative fabrication and parts.

Powering the diminutive 4x4 is a 1.6 liter Sidekick engine installed by Petroworks. The Sammy features an interesting suspension - Ballistic air shocks and custom fabricated triangulated 4-link in back and Astro Van fiberglass leaf springs, plus Ballistic air shocks, up front. Toyota front and rearends have the stock Toyota 4.10 gears and Spartan lockers from Randy's Ring and Pinion. A Calmini Rockcrawler transfer case with 6.5:1 low range allows the Samurai to crawl. 31" Interco TrXus MT tires grip the rocks like glue.

There's plenty more to see here. Look for all the details in 4Wheel Drive Magazine!
