Last time, we were hiking a narrow trail just over a mile long to get to the Champion Mine Camp.
The camp is very much alive and well thanks to volunteer efforts over the years. There are several cabins, and you're welcome to stay in any that aren't already occupied. We didn't come prepared for that--hopefully we can do this sometime in the future.
We came to a faded sign and decided that improving it was going to be our visit's contribution.
Normally, marking on public property with a Sharpie marker is destructive. This time it was restorative.
I asked Collette to do the writing since her penmanship is far superior to mine.
Ideally, this sign needs the background re-painted before new lettering is added, but this quickie fix should hold things over for now.
