This 80-Series Land Cruiser was a surprise on a couple of levels. First, coming across it was a chance encounter. The owner was taking his boys dirt bike riding in the Hungry Valley OHV area and we happened to be there shooting the Rocky Roads Bronco. Second, there are tricks and tidbits permeating this rig. It's equipped for adventure in the next zip code or the next country.
Carrying and organizing tools and equipment is one of the biggest hassles when it comes to expedition-style adventures. Two heavy-duty drawers make things easier.
The inline six isn't the big news here. The hot shower is. With the red heat exchanger, you can use engine heat to heat water for a hot shower at the end of a dusty day. Don't leave civilization behind. Bring it with you! When you're more comfortable, it's easier to go further.
